And the Winner is …

A New Trend for a Modern Wedding

What hot trend has been popping up everywhere? I’ll give you a hint: it’s NOT a fabulous color combination. It’s NOT a candy buffet. It’s NOT wedding cupcakes in lieu of a traditional cake. Although the aforementioned details make me positively giddy, it is not any of those things. So what is the modern wedding’s best kept secret?

What the heck is a damask? The dictionary defines a damask as an “elaborate pattern of flowers and the like.” Works for me. Here are some examples of damask patterns:

Ok, that’s great. Now what? The possibilities for incorporating this unique pattern into your wedding are endless. For a modern look, stick with different shades of pink or blue and accent with black damasks. There is no right or wrong way to utilize this hot trend. Go all out or just use it as a classic accent for your wedding stationary and thank you cards. Either way, the damask pattern is the perfect finishing touch that screams modern elegance :)

Stationary: Invitations and Thank you Notes

If you are a DIY queen, you are in luck. Most scrapbook and craft stores carry damask patterned paper and rubber stamps. Use it to create your invitations, thank you cards and more!

Here is a great tutorial on lining your own envelopes!

Hello! My name is Bobbi and I was born and raised in Stanley, Wisconsin. I eventually grew up, left the nest and flew to Platteville, WI where I attended UW-Platteville and graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. I found employment immediately with the state of Wisconsin in a profession that utilizes both of my degrees.

This past October my fiance and I purchased a home in Sun Prairie. We currently reside with a rescued greyhound named Gabby and a sleuth of a cat named Pot Roast. My fiance and I are getting married in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on September 6th of this year. Read More…
