I recently officiated a lovely Hindu/Christian interfaith ceremony in which we used parts of both traditions within the one ceremony. I had done separate ones before or co-officiated with a Hindu priest but this wedding with the elements intertwined was very unique. The bride and groom chose the parts of the Hindu wedding traditions and the Christian ones. For example they lit a Unity Candle from the Christian tradition then used that flame as the sacred fire around which they took their 7 steps making their vows in the Hindu tradition. There were other parts too. The guests were fascinated and learned a lot about the two religions and their wedding customs. There were explanations of the traditions in the beautiful wedding program the couple put together. The wedding is on my Raleigh Wedding Blog with photos. The couple are Lori and Bijal.
