How long have you been in business?
Amelia Rose Jewelry was incorporated in January of 2007.
What inspired you to start your business?
Starting a business was always a goal of mine since childhood. After practicing law for a couple of years I had the business and legal foundation to successfully start Amelia Rose Jewelry. Amelia Rose has always been managed like a business, as opposed to a hobby, and that approach has helped us get to where we are today.
Tell us why you think your business is successful.
I believe our success is in part due to what makes our business unique. We provide a high quality, top-designed product while providing the best level of service possible. Going through the wedding planning process a few years ago taught me first-hand how priceless it is to work with efficient and honest wedding vendors, and as the bride to be able to check another item off your to-do list! I always want brides to be happy with the outcome of our designs and that requires good communication up front to ensure we are meeting expectations for design and price.
What makes your business unique?
The level of customer service, quality and personal attention we provide is unmatched in the custom wedding jewelry industry. We prefer to personally consult in person with each bride, but when geography gets in the way we set up phone meetings and send samples/receive swatches of wedding colors through the mail. Everything must be perfect for one’s wedding and the jewelry worn should be no exception.
Is there a particular niche you target?
Certainly brides – as wedding jewelry is our specialty. Our jewelry really attracts a very wide audience due to its superb quality and transitional characteristics. However we always hope to make shopping for men, who are looking for gifts for their loved ones, less intimidating. We are launching our initial pendant and birthstone line around Valentine’s Day and anticipate this addition to be quite a hit, especially as gifts for new mothers!
What is your company’s philosophy when working with wedding couples?
To listen to their wishes and requests and do our best to make that the reality. With wedding jewelry we typically work solely with the bride, but occasionally grooms are interested in the selection of jewelry and it is so important to hear the wishes of the couple and advise them on their best options keeping in mind budgets, number of attendants in a wedding party and color requests.
How do you help couples customize their weddings?
There is always the ability to add “something blue” to any jewelry design, however we also can customize by matching wedding colors to specific gemstones (for example a recent wedding we designed for had plum colored bridesmaid dresses and to coordinate, without being too “matchy matchy” we added pink amethyst to the mix. The light lilac shade of the pink amethyst was the perfect shade for the plum dresses and is a stone that works well on almost every skin tone). Another fun way to customize wedding jewelry is to add in a family keepsake to a new piece, such as a locket or pendant with special meaning. The possibilities are endless!
At what point in the planning process do you typically work with couples?
We find that most couples work on wedding jewelry towards the end of the planning process after other major decisions have been made such as theme, flowers and color combination. This allows us the opportunity to compliment, rather than take away from or distract from the design decisions already made. In general we suggest as much time as possible for custom creations, however we also have an extensive SHOP BY COLOR section on our website, ameliarosejewelry.com, filled with over a hundred options for ready to order pieces.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your business?
At Amelia Rose we love what we do and especially enjoy working with wedding couples. It’s an honor to be involved in such an important time for a couple and to create something that will last long after the big day that serves as a cherished reminder of the wedding!
