Introducing Beantown Bride!
Today we have an exciting feature for our Boston Brides! The newly launched Beantown Bride is a fabulous resource for all brides in the area. Acclaimed Boston-based wedding photographer Brittany K. Blando recently began the blog after 8 years of collaboration with talented local wedding vendors.

This site offers resources such as event information, wedding inspiration, real featured weddings, tips, trends and more that is all geared towards brides in the Boston area. It’s Brittany’s hope that her site will inspire brides and grooms to create exceptional events that represent their style as a couple. Beantown Bride also offers deals, discounts and special rates that are exclusive to their readers. Brittany shares some more information about her blog below…
What is your main goal/expectation for Beantown Bride?
Beantown Bride is the first resource of its kind. We’re a locally-based, reader-driven, wedding planning community thriving in a modern media world. The truth is, today’s bride is a multi-tasker. She’s most likely juggling a career, family, soon-to-be in-laws, and a social life while planning a wedding in-between it all. She’s answering the floral designer’s question about her French-tied bouquet between meetings one minute and pulling up an image of her dream cage veil on her iPhone the next. Not to mention dealing with that one bridesmaid who insists apple green doesn’t complement her skin tone! While Beantown Bride covers the traditional favorites you find in wedding magazines like real weddings, tons of photos of bouquets, boutonnières, banquet halls, our brides interact with us daily. Even better, everything they see on Beantown Bride is what we call locally-grown. Because we exclusively feature Greater Boston/New England-based professionals, our brides can contact the exact same vendor who made another bride’s day extraordinary to be there for them.
Is there any particular niche you target?
Our content appeals to brides and grooms who don’t know the meaning of the word “budget” to couples who want “you, me, the preacher and the sea.” And I don’t think the two are mutually exclusive. What I am saying is that our featured weddings and information-driven articles are meant to inspire the entire gamut of the to-be-wed. A crafty do-it-yourself bride may be inspired to replicate a bouquet she saw on Beantown, while another bride may find the perfect, post-ceremony tea-length dress on a bride from an intimate Martha’s Vineyard wedding. That’s what is so cool about Beantown Bride — we focus on all wedding styles. And our articles contain valuable advice that can be useful across the board, like how to ensure a stress-free meeting of the parents or our Top 10 New England honeymoon destinations. That being said, we’re careful not to flood the site with too much material at once. Even though we receive tons of submissions daily, we only feature the work of the area’s best and most trusted wedding professionals, and look for fresh perspectives. Everything we publish is hand picked by our team featuring only the best.
Could brides that aren’t living in the Boston area find your site useful?
Absolutely! While the site is tailored to the Massachusetts area, evidenced in the images couples frolicking through Faneuil Hall or walking with the sand between their toes on Nantucket’s ‘Sconset Beach, the information and advice is applicable to almost any bride. In fact, a California-based bride planning a Boston wedding recently emailed us saying she found one of our sponsor’s ads so appealing that she linked to his web site, chatted by phone, and booked him to shoot her wedding without even meeting in person yet. She said it was the best local site she has seen out there to help her plan her wedding from across the country. Not only do brides feel connected to the site because our tone is consistent and we’re approachable, but you actually see the work of our sponsors.
At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what zip code a Beantown Bride reader lives in. Whether you are planning a chic city wedding or a seaside celebration, let’s face it — it’s all about the eye candy!
Are there any upcoming features, events or giveaways that our brides should keep a lookout for?
I’m so excited about our first giveaway: an intimate, dream wedding worth nearly $15,000! We’re announcing the winner May 1st! We’ll continue to work with our generous sponsors to create one-of-a-kind giveaways, deals and discounts for Beantown Bride readers. We know that planning a wedding is a exhilarating but expensive ordeal, so we’re always looking to connect with our readers to offer the best deals around.
What is your favorite feature to share with your readers?
I often joke that my DNA must contain some oversized gene for weddings because even though I shoot them for a living, I continue to love every aspect of love, from “be my wife?” to the last dance of the night! Therefore, my favorite thing, if I had to choose one (I feel like a mom having to name her favorite kid!) would be the Real Weddings. I never get tired of seeing the moment captured when a couple locks eyes for the for the first time on their wedding day, or a mom and dad look at their little girl all gown up, or a family tearing up the dance floor. Every couple’s love story is unique, and it’s a privilege to share their wedding day experience with our Beantown Bride readers.
