DIY: Wedding Decor with Washi Tape

In my search for Spring DIY projects, I recently came across these fabulous vases by Elizabeth Goodman on To be Charmed. She used Japanese Washi Tape to decorate these glass vases. They are super cute and easy to DIY. Just apply your design on the glass with the tape and … wait, that’s all!  You’re done! These vases are bright, fun and would be perfect as centerpieces at a Spring or Summer wedding!  Find a few tips from Elizabeth here.

I loved these Washi tape vases so much that I decided to search around for more DIY projects with this tape.  Since I’m just learning about this fabulous tape, I was surprised when I found that there are lots of great ideas out there for decorating with it.  And plenty of them are perfect accents for your wedding day! Here are just a few that I found.

Once Wed has a great Washi tape DIY project for a table number/centerpiece combo.  Find the tutorial here.

You could use Washi tape to add some color or fun designs to your escort cards … or any other wedding stationery for that matter!

Save some money by buying a plain, simple guestbook and dress it up with Washi tape in your wedding colors.

I love the idea of using this funky tape to seal your invitation envelopes.  It gives them just that little something extra.

Washi tape is great for adding in little splashes of color to your wedding details.  The best thing about using the tape for DIY wedding projects is that it’s something that anyone can use!  Even if you don’t consider yourself “crafty”, there is a pretty good chance you’ll have fun exploring the possibilities of Washi Tape.  There are  so many colors, prints, and designs of the tape out there … there’s bound to be some that fit in with your wedding colors.  You can buy this tape from stores like Happy Tape, Cute Tape, or from Etsy sellers.

If you’re not really into crafty projects and are planning to do some digital design, you can even find tape strip clip art!  Get a free download from Katrina over at Pugly Pixel.

Are you using Japanese Washi tape in your wedding decor?  We’d love to hear about it!

“Great submit & Fantastic blog! I would definitely love to begin a weblog too but I have no clue where to begin. I possess the ability to do it (not that challenging around the technical portion) but I actually feel like I am too lazy to publish regularly. That is the problem, should you start you have to go all the way. However blogs like yours inspire me to have a go at it. “
