Vendor Interview: Paper Olive Wedding Stationery

This week I have a great vendor to share with you.  Paper Olive is a couture wedding stationery company that was started by Marleine Pacilio.  During her struggle to find a chic, whimsical, upscale design for her own wedding stationery, Marleine fell in love with the design process and the tactile art of paper.  Soon after she was married, Paper Olive was born … and has been in business for four years now.

Paper Olive has three main collections for wedding invitation sets.  The Couture collection, the Contemporary Chic collection and the Olive Press collection.  All of the invitation designs in each collection can be completely customized.  Couples also have the option to create a one-of-a-kind design suite.  Paper Olive offers many options for creating wedding invitations that are totally unique to you.

Marlene: “I feel blessed to be able to do what I do.  I’ve had some truly wonderful clients who’ve made my decision to open this business worth every ounce of effort.”

What makes your business unique?
My combination of luxury, color and whimsy.  I love the classics — but with a twist.  To me, the vintage art of letterpress is reborn by using fresh modern lines and vibrant colors.  I like to reinvent things we all love, using playfulness and elegance.  My goal is to be chic, but still intimate, personal, and fun.

What is your company’s philosophy when working with wedding couples?
To ENJOY the process.  Weddings can be so stressful, I try to make the invitation design process as easy and fun as possible.  I also offer services that handle much of the work for my couples — addressing, assembly, mailing.  My invitations not only become one less thing to worry about in the planning process, but something brides look forward to, because I take all the guesswork and effort out of it.  I laugh a lot with my couples.  That’s how it should be.

How do you help couples customize their weddings?
By helping them focus on one thing that really speaks to who they are as a couple – a color, a texture, a design element – and then carrying that throughout the invitation suite and any other stationery elements.  It helps makes a cohesive statement, but also sets a personal tone that carries from the first invitation to the last moment of the wedding.
