Creative Card Holders

At your reception, there is a very good chance you will need a vessel to hold the dozens and dozens of cards you will get from your guests. I’ve noticed this year that many wedding guests are opting for the last minute card with cash/check inside vs. getting a physical “gift”. Having just gotten married a year and a half ago, I know that we actually welcomed the somewhat “uncreative” gift of money over gifts – hands down!  But we did not collect the cards in a totally cliche treasure chest or cheap-looking white bird cage, we classed it up with a creatively chic card vessel instead. I figured, we might as well have form AND function! Go big or go home!

Here is the card holder we had below. It is a huge cylinder vase with a floral-rim at the top. I made the floral rim entirely with carnations (which in my opinion are only acceptable to use for weddings when in a pomander or mass-style arrangement) and I found battery-operated LED rice lights in purple to put in between the blooms along with hanging crystals. Another bonus is the top floral rim part was given to my mom at the end of the night to be used as a centerpiece at her home.

Here is another variation of what I did for our wedding but in a mix of colors…I think this is just such a beautiful option because it acts as a card holder and floral arrangement all at once.

Another really fun vase that I design and rent out to my clients often is this rectangle vase with custom monogram and ribbons in their wedding color scheme.

We also have a couple sets of “upscale” birdcages for those who like a more traditional container to hold their cards. One style is a birdcage duo with patterned paper in the bottom and ribbon with a label around the top. The smaller cage is for “Wishes and Advice for the Bride and Groom” and the larger one is to hold the actual cards. The other birdcage we offer is a more sleek, modern looking rectangular cage with a floral element at the top and ribbon. Its a far cry from the white, cheaply made ones you can buy in the wedding aisle. You can get a nicer looking cage for a great price online at www.Save-On-Crafts.com or at Hobby Lobby stores.

i am more often than not scurrying across the online world nearly all of the morning which means that I usually tend to peruse a great deal, which isn’t always a beneficial factor as many of the websites I discover are constructed of unproductive rubbish copied from various other web sites a thousand times, but I gotta say this site is in actual fact half decent and holds some unique material, for that reason kudos for splitting the fad of simply just duplicating other peoples’ blogs :)
