Very Green Arrangements

green weddings

I love flowers. What bride doesn’t?  I love how flowers can add a romantic atmosphere to a girl’s wedding day. They just seem to make any day special and loved. What I don’t like about flowers, however,  is the price tag. Luckily, flowers aren’t the only option for beautiful wedding decor! I’m here to tell you today that brides and grooms can have beautiful table arrangements without using all flowers … or all the cash.

When planning your wedding day, think about new and interesting ways to add some excitement and romance to your table arrangements. My suggestion is to do it with vegetables, fruits and other greens!  Using these other options instead of flowers for your floral arrangements will make your wedding unique. If you like this idea, but still want some flowers … try using a combination. Your guests will have lots to talk about when they see the lovely green floral arrangements. Next time you go to the grocery store, visit the produce aisle and take a new look at all the carrots, lettuce, artichokes and lemons, for ideas for your wedding arrangements.

Welcome Back Featured Photographer Alysse Gafkjen!

You may remember our amazing featured photographer Alysse Gafkjen from this post.  Well, shes back!  Today we have another wonderful engagement session from her!

Chelsea and Tony’s engagement session took place at the Marion Municipal Airport.  The airport location was chosen to symbolize Tony’s active duty in the Air Force.  All of the details – including Chelsea’s dress and Tony’s patten leather shoes and bow tie – were all carefully planned to bring to life this dreamy vintage, 1950’s summer feel.

Gingham Accents

I totally have patterns on the brain lately … so today I am featuring gingham!   There is just something very sweet and playful about this pattern.  Gingham would make a great accent choice if you’re hosting a casual garden or picnic style wedding. I heart gingham!

P.S. I Love This …

I recently mentioned (here) how I suffer from the make-it-myself-mindset .. wanting make every item that I fall for in stores rather than just buying it.

My problem is this … I see it. Check. I love it. Check. I want to make it. Check, check! Sometimes, I even buy or collect the supplies … Ok, check. I have a finished product. Silence … (insert cricket noises …)

Why didn’t that last statement get checked off? Well, sometimes it does. But most times I don’t know where to start on my new project … and so, it sits.

If any of you are feeling this way about your DIY wedding projects, here is some great inspiration! Erica Domesek is the fabulous lady behind P.S. I Made This … A site dedicated to the condition I mentioned above. Erica “encourages readers to embrace the concept of I see it, I like it, I make it.”  She is also my DIY hero :)

For each project Erica posts a collage of inspiration and then the simple steps she takes to turn it into something fabulous!  On her site you’ll find her clothing, accessory and decor creations.  Some might even be perfect inspiration for bridesmaid gifts, accessories for the rehearsal dinner … or items for your wedding day!  Check it out and be inspired.
