Featured Photographer: Dove Wedding Photography

Whitney and Peter, of Dove Wedding Photography, are this week’s Featured Photographers!  The two Nashville photographers combine their individual creative styles to capture the essence of each wedding with a blend of fun, whimsy and emotion.  They are focused on capturing all of the planned details – large and small – along with friends and family that make each wedding special.  Providing couples with gorgeous photographs which are a reflection of the amazing moments that make up their big day is was is important to them.

Here are some of their photos from Beth and Cameron’s Nashville wedding …

Whitney & Peter: “This wedding is dreamy-romantic to the core, starting with a couple so in love you can feel the power, even in print!  Beth and Cameron chose a historic farm estate in Nashville, Tennessee for its natural beauty and old southern plantation feel. For an intimate testament to their love, they elected to have only their minister at the altar with them.  Instead of bridesmaids, Beth appointed eight of her closest friends as honorary bridesmaids and greeters and presented each of them with orchid nosegays. The bride’s off-shoulder Rivini gown is the epitome of southern romance with fresh Cymbidium Orchid combs adorning her hair for a casually elegant look perfect for a farm wedding.”

To add to this romantic affair, the chairs were adorned with beautiful, Victorian lilac satin bows and monogrammed hand fans for the guests.  Beautiful purple details and delicate flowers were sprinkled all over the venue and a live band played throughout the reception.

Aqua & Fuchsia

I love colorful weddings. They are refreshing, bright and unexpected. In today’s modern take on a wedding there are many ways of adopting new color schemes rather than opting for the traditional pale pastel color palette.

In a sea of bright blue and hues of purple and pinks, the colors Aqua and Fuchsia are a romantic match ! It is perfect for a soft muted blue to be highlighted with pops of hot pink and purple.

If you don’t believe me, just look below:

What about pretty little aqua and fuchsia hair pins for bridesmaids’ hair? It’s the little details that count.

The classic idea of using bright fuchsia floral arrangements matched with an aqua lace table cloth is a wonderful way to brighten up everyone’s dinner!

Having an aqua and fuchsia wedding invitation is a beautiful way to announce your big day!

Isn’t this cake delicious? It reminds me of a summer breeze and gum drops at the beach.

Brighten up your wedding (literally) … A teal lantern is refreshing and will illuminate your wedding with hints of blues.

Happy Planning :)

DIY Ice Lanterns

Dreaming of a winter wonderland wedding?  You’re not alone!  You might be surprised to know that one in four couples ties the knot during the winter.  If you are joining the winter wedding bandwagon, here’s a great DIY ice lantern project from Design*Sponge.   These lanterns are super easy to make and you won’t need a ton of supplies.  I plan to make a few for my own home this winter!

Here’s what you’ll need:

♥   2 buckets (one smaller than the other)
♥   Some greens (holly, pine, mistletoe, etc.)
♥   Water
♥   Tape

Here’s what you’ll do:

Fill the biggest bucket half full with water.  Place the smaller bucket inside it and place some rocks or something heavy to keep it in place.  Add more water (the water level should be to the top).  Add your branches to the sides of the bucket.  Use some tape to keep the small bucket in the middle of the big one.  Now, set the whole thing outside to freeze.  Once frozen, remove the small bucket and then the large one.  Place a votive candle inside and you’re done.

Say hello to your lovely ice lantern!

Farewell Brunch

Many couples are deciding to add a Farewell Brunch to their wedding celebration.  The brunch usually occurs the morning after the wedding and it is a great way to ensure you are able to speak to all your wedding guests. It also serves as a great ‘cool down’ period before everyone returns to their busy schedules and the bride and groom leave for their honeymoon. Here are some great themes and color pallets to consider when planning your Farewell Brunch…
