Featured Photographer: Light Love Laughter Photography

Yipee!  It’s Monday … and that means I get to share another wonderful photographer with you! Tessa is a gal with a big heart, a love for travel and an absolute passion for photography. Based in Atlanta, Georgia Light Love Laughter Photography is Tessa’s major endeavor.  She has turned her passion into a fabulous photography business that focuses on wedding and engagement photography.

Tessa: “I believe pictures are some of the most important material treasures we have on earth. The moment the shutter clicks, that instant in time is preserved. With a single click of the shutter – years later you’ll experience not only that single memory but all the emotions, feelings and other memories linked to that one little moment. How amazing is that?!

My goal is to not only create beautiful images and capture moments but for my images to tell a story. Sometimes the most cherished memories aren’t the big events- but the little moments that happen in between.”

Today’s photos are from Sarah and Josh’s proposal.  Josh is one of the many sneaky men who planned to surprise his honey with a photographed proposal! … I just love these!

Tessa: “They are good friends of mine and so I was to call Sarah and ask if she’d want to get together and let me “practice” some new lighting techniques. The plan was a grand success. They met me- she was clueless of what was to come as we casually strolled around the Winshape center taking pictures and having lots of fun.”

Tessa: We eventually worked up to the place Josh had scoped out and decided to propose at. Sarah still had no idea!  Once I had the camera set for video and I was ready, I gave him the green light and he proceeded with asking her to be his wife! Sarah really had no idea until he went down on one knee and couldn’t have been more amazed or shocked”

Sarah was even more surprised when she saw her whole family strolling up to the park to congratulate them!

Darling Buttons!

Buttons are an extremely inexpensive, but very cute way to include personal touches in the details of your wedding day.  You can give them away as wedding favors, attach them to your place cards or you can just leave them laying around in your decor for guests to gawk over.  Don’t worry, even if you are planning a formal wedding, you can still incorporate buttons in your wedding day decor.

Mock Cocktail Hour

Cocktail hours are always fun at weddings – a time to meet other guests, time to discuss the lovely wedding ceremony that just took place … and a time when your guests can relax and enjoy a few cocktails.

Many brides and grooms decide not to serve alcoholic beverages during the cocktail hour either by personal choice, because of their wedding budget, or due to venue policies. The Solution? Serve Mocktails during your cocktail hour!  This way your guests will still be able to enjoy a few tasty beverages between the ceremony and reception.

Mocktails are non-alcoholic beverages that are made to look like a cocktail without the expensive price tag. Mocktails can be easily incorporated into any wedding by naming your drinks with wedding inspired names. For example … The Hansdome Husband Cocktail, The Blushing Bride Cocktail and Here comes the Honeymoon Cocktail.  You can get creative with drink names and make them very personal by adding the names of the happy couple, wedding party or family members.  It would be great to surprise special guests with a drink named after them.

Here are a few drinks that may inspire you, resources for non-alcohol cocktails can be found here: Belvoir Fruit Farms and Cocktails Deals

Paisley Wedding Details

Yup, you guessed it … I’m writing yet another post about patterns!   I really can’t help myself … there are so many great patterns you can incorporate into a wedding.  So, today I am featuring paisley!  Love it or hate it, the paisley pattern has been around for ages (since the 19th century to be exact).  Hey, you may think it looks like the amoeba you dissected in biology class in 7th grade … but I kind of dig it!
