If you’ve been following WedLoft’s featured photographer posts, you are well aware that I adore surprise proposal photo sessions!  While many people are not fans of surprises, I think this is one occasion so sweet and special … it totally deserves to be documented. Featured Photographers Erin and Daniel of Lovisa Han Photography have an adorable sneak proposal session for us!

Erin: “We are Daniel & Erin who form the two person team that is Lovisa Han Photography. Our small team focuses on people. We love getting to know people through their stories and backgrounds and we always feel so privileged to take part in one of their most precious days. As a result, we strive to create a style that is natural, adaptive, and free; a photo-journalistic style that best captures the essence of who you are in ways that can’t be expressed in words. We want to show the world who you are in the most genuine way.”

Here are their photos from Paul’s sneaky proposal to Jane …

As an early Christmas present, Paul scheduled a couple’s session with Lovisa Han Photography for him and Jane.  After posing in pictures for a  little while, Paul got down on one  knee and popped the question to his unsuspecting love!

Floating Flowers

I fell in love with the idea of these breath-taking floating flowers as soon as I saw the photo’s … A beautiful combination of modern flare and simple sophistication.

I love how the designer choose to float the flowers over a long rectangle table with minimal decor.  It is absolutely beautiful.

The flowers are hanging from thin cables and are nestled in small clear tubes filled with water.  This is a lovely option with any wedding color scheme and so unique it will have your guests talking for years about sitting at a table with flowers suspended overhead.

Have you ever thought about floating flower’s over your reception table?

Photo Inspiration: Choosing Your Color Palette

When it comes to wedding planning, deciding on your wedding colors is one of the first and major decisions you will need to make. While this is an easy choice for some, it can be totally overwhelming for many brides. If you are struggling with this decision, you’re not alone … I completely sympathize! There are so many options and combinations of colors … I tend to fall in love with many (and most) of the wedding color palettes I see out there! With the help of amazing planners and vendors, couples are pulling together new and beautiful color combos for their events.

So, what to you do? How can you possibly choose?

One of my favorite ways of choosing a to-die-for color palette for a wedding (or anything for that matter) is to draw inspiration from a photo that you are absolutely infatuated with! I came across this lovely, delicate floral photo on Flickr  by Shana Rae (below) and was totally smitten!

Simply pop your photo into an online color palette generator (some great sites for this are Kuler and Color Hunter) and Ta Da! … You have your wedding colors.

Now that you have your color palette, it will be easy to find more inspiration in your wedding colors  …

A Sweet Heart Wedding

Hearts are everywhere in wedding planning. There is just no way around it. Hearts can be found in wedding merchandise, decorations, invitations and in favors.

Using hearts in your wedding can be totally cute. They trend to be fun, playful and very simple in design. What can be surprising to you is that hearts can be integrated into your wedding decor and theme in unexpected ways that can bring some sweetness and style to your day.

It is amazing how a small sweet design such as a heart can become sophisticated in a wedding. By having a heart themed wedding, your wedding can become whimsical, sweet, and simple all at the same time.

Tiny gold hearts on a butter cream wedding cake? Adorable.

A heart themed invitation doesn’t mean a heart shaped cut-out. Think about using hearts in less traditional colors. For example, use teal and poppy red.

Instead of a candy buffet, your wedding guests will love an ice cream buffet especially with these heart shaped ice cream sandwiches!

Little heart shaped garland are a great way to decorate the wedding ceremony. You can easily hang these little hearts in the entry of a church aisle, or off the trees in a outdoor wedding.

These hearts were brilliantly made with thumbprints. Couples can create these beauties together and use their homemade artwork to decorate invitations, table numbers and escort cards.
