Bachelorette Getaway at Banff Lake Louise!

Rather than doing one big night out, it is becoming more and more popular for ladies to go on a little retreat for their bachelorette party. Taking a trip for some fun, relaxation and pampering with your best gals … sounds great to me! Banff Lake Louise is a fabulous location for all of the above!

Groom’s Cakes Galore

Everyone remembers the classic tearjerker ‘Steel Magnolias.’ One of my favorites scenes in the movie is when actress Shirley Maclaine cuts into the classic armadillo groom’s cake … An armadillo shaped cake made out of red velvet is a cult classic and to this day many brides and grooms embrace the idea of creating their own version of a Steel Magnolias armadillo groom’s cake.

To achieve a groom’s cake that fits your future husband’s personality, focus on his favorite activities and hobbies. Does your groom like to go fishing, play poker? The cake could represent his profession or his true passion. Do you both have a special activity you do together? A groom’s cake can be anything from an animal shaped cake to a cake that portrays a witty joke. Having fun with it is the only requirement when choosing a grooms cake. I mean really, its not every day that you see a red velvet armadillo cake.

Jennifer & Devin’s Elegant Newport, RI Wedding

Longing for a wedding venue that was classic, elegant and romantic … Jennifer and Devin knew that Newport, RI was the perfect location for their wedding. The stunning ocean-side city is filled with many beautiful sites for weddings and they were sure they’d find a venue that would be just right for their dream wedding.

Jennifer and Devin chose to marry at Rosecliff, one of the Newport Mansions. Once the venue was decided on, the rest of the details fell into place. Below are the photos of their wedding day taken by Armor & Martel.

I’ve Got You Covered

Some people like them, other people can do without. I happen to absolutely love them! … I’m talking about the use of tents for an outdoor wedding reception.

Transform the space under your tent to become anything you want! You can incorporate beautiful outdoor seating complete with two end tables and a cocktail table. Using hanging chandeliers and tall foliage will help give the space the warm and welcoming feeling of home. By simply using different elements in your design, your event can take on completely different styles. Its up to you!

When done right, tents can become part of the wedding decor instead of drawing your attention away from it. Tents can actually be a welcome addition. They are an especially good option if you’re getting married in an area with unpredictable weather.

Another up and coming trend for outdoor wedding receptions (quickly making its way to the US) is the use of teepee wedding tents. This is an idea I would have never thought of, but (like me) when you see how beautifully decorated they can be, you may start to think twice about using a teepee for your wedding day as well.
