Raquel and Jim planned a beautiful winter wedding that was held in Alsip, Illinois. As a graphic designer and fan of beautiful event design, Raquel was swept up in the planning process. Her many DIY projects combined with the help of her wonderful vendors made their wedding day absolutely perfect! The main wedding color was purple – which was sprinkled throughout the day in the floral design, decor, details and lighting. Below are some beautiful photos from Raquel and Jim’s wedding taken by Dawn of Dawn E. Roscoe Photography.
Dawn: “What makes this wedding special? All the DIY and candy buffet details! Raquel worked for months creating all the great purple details of the wedding to reflect the winter season. She made all the ornament centerpieces, menu cards, favor boxes, name cards and paper flowers. She also worked very closely with Ashley from Luscious Layers to create a one-of-a-kind sweets bar that had coordinating purple and white candy, cake, popcorn, and cookies for her guests. Since Raquel is a graphic designer, she really worked tirelessly on making sure that every ceremony and reception detail was handcrafted and part of her big day.”
Here are some of the lovely DIYs and details that Raquel worked so hard on …
Congratulations Raquel & Jim!

Hi Sara! We don’t know exactly where those purple heels are from, but Zappos has a similar style http://www.zappos.com/bouquets-bette-grape-satin. Hope that helps!
