We always enjoy receiving real wedding submissions that have some elements that are out of the ordinary. We were recently sent Mary and Tim’s wedding by Ann Oleinik Photography and found it delightful! This wedding certainly has unique qualities. Mary and Tim were married in a beautiful ceremony that contained quite a surprise for the bride and groom (you’ll see what we’re gettin’ at)!
Mary and Tim were surprised with a play during the ceremony. Mary’s two kids were a big part of their wedding day, and their friends and families all conspired to write and create a play that the guests and wedding party acted out during their ceremony… cow costumes and all!
Ann: “The play was really cute. It was written like a fairy tale, where a handsome young man wanted to marry the princess, and the princess’s father demanded an impossibly large dowry of many many cows in exchange for his daughter. So the young man, very much in love, managed to assemble all of the cows that the king asked for and set out to give them to the king so he could marry the princess. So all of the kids at the wedding, and the guests, got to play the parts of the cows. As the young man went on his journey to the king, he kept meeting people in desperate need of help – and of cows. Being a nice, generous, man, whenever somebody in need would ask for help, he would give up a few more of his cows, even if that meant risking the hand of his beloved. By the time he reached the king, he hardly had any cows left because he had given them all away. But of course, in the end, his generous spirit won the heart of the king and his princess, and they lived happily ever after.”
Congratulations Mary & Tim!

Pearls of Wisdom

Pearls are a natural choice for brides looking for timeless elegance. Unlike diamonds and other stones, pearls do not have to be cut and polished to perfection, they grow into it on their own. For bridal, many gravitate toward the pale creamy or white colors.

Pearls embody nature’s beauty, mystery and magic. Even “The Birth of Venus”, the goddess of love, has the same course as a pearl. The Latin word for pearl means “unique”. The pearl has been a prized piece for nobility across time and cultures from Queen Elizabeth to Chinese emperors. Pearls are perfect for a bride looking to add a touch of elegance to their ensemble.

While very unique, pearls complement and enhance the beauty of other stones and garments with ease. Kate Middleton, or the Duchess of Cambridge, chose to accent her royal wedding dress with pearl buttons. The Cambridge Lover’s Knot Tiara showcases the brilliance of stunning drop-sized pearls next to diamonds.
Pearls are great as bridal jewelry worn on your wedding day adorning your neck, earrings or even a tiara studded with pearls.

Why settle for being the “Girl with the Pearl Earring” when you could be draped in them from head to toe on your wedding day – that’s my pearl of wisdom for you brides-to-be!
