Finding the Right Photographer For You

Finding the Perfect Professional Wedding Photographer

I’m that family member that takes her digital camera everywhere and snaps away. Being on the other side of the camera is definitely a different experience! That’s why finding the right wedding photographer is so important to me. Here are some things to keep in mind when you search for the best wedding photographers…
  1. Ask your friends and family. Most brides won’t hesitate when you ask to see their wedding pictures. Take a look, ask them who they used and how they felt about their experience.
  2. Look at professional wedding photographer’s websites. Most will showcase their work online and provide photo galleries for you to surf through.
  3. Visit the photographer. There you’ll be able to flip through various sample albums to see their pictures. You’ll also get a better understanding of the quality of work and what each package includes.
  4. Once you meet the photographer, see if you guys click! Make note if the vendor is late, rushes you, etc. You want your wedding day to be perfect and about you. You’ll be spending the entire day with the photographer following you around so find someone who you’re comfortable with.

I am using the same wedding photographer for my wedding that I used for my NJ engagement party, which was great trial run for the big day. I loved all my pictures from the party – I had so many great ones to choose from! Not only did my photographer capture all the right moments during the party but we did a quick 30 minute portrait session before the party. In those 30 minutes I got over 125 pics to select from to put in our album! I couldn’t ask for more!

The One

Finding the perfect engagement ring is like being in a relationship. First, you scope out our options. It begins innocently – you steal a glance or two as you pass by a jewelry store. Eventually, you start flirting – going in and trying on rings, seeing if the sparkle is to your liking. Sometimes you think you’ve fall in love but then realize it’s not working out and you move on. You search and search for what makes you happy.

Then, one day, you find the one. The perfect engagement ring. Some of you stumbled upon it. Some of you knew right away that it was what you wanted, and you’ve known it all your lives. Some of you are unsure and need some time to figure it out. Some of you fight it – are you willing to spend the rest of forever with this one piece of jewelry? You try to envision your future – do you see yourself with this ring 5 years from now and still being as happy? Are you settling? And when you finally realize that yes, this is the one, a feeling of joy overwhelms you.

At first, I liked a lot of rings that I saw, but I didn’t fall in love. Then, I found the one. I tried on a few rings after that but my thoughts kept leading me back to the one. You could say it captured my heart. My fiance saw this other relationship of mine and was pretty amused throughout the duration of our ring shopping experience. Luckily, he gave me the one when he proposed and till this day I couldn’t be happier with my choice – both with the ring and him!

When and if you go engagement ring shopping (I know not all couples do this), it might be harder than you thought to find a ring you like, and one that falls into your price range. Make sure you both do your research! Look online and ask questions when in stores, and just remember to have fun finding the one!
