This wedding was definitely not what I expected when I first received word of Brenda and Dustin’s country western themed wedding from Jae Photography. Contrary to what I was picturing, this wedding was filled with soft colors and delicate decor. Brenda and Dustin feared their wedding being labeled as a “Redneck Hoedown” when truth be told, they had nothing to worry about. This wedding was a gorgeously styled event mixed with handmade details and classic country charm. Brenda will give you all the details below!
Brenda: When Dustin and I started planning our wedding it was a no brainer that we both wanted the non typical wedding. Between our love of all things country mixed with our desire to not to have a “Redneck Hoedown” it came to life with our DIY Country Western themed Wedding. Planning our wedding together definitely had its challenges but it ultimately brought us together and the end result would prove to be truly the wedding that we wanted. Dustin and I decided not to have a “First Look.” Our ceremony consisted of our own individual hand written vows along with the traditional wedding vows, special music sang by my twin daughters and a Brandin’ Ceremony involving my oldest daughter and Dustin’s son with our custom family Promise Cross Brand we had made by a local welder.
We arrived to our reception on horseback. Our reception was more of classy picnic style setting with long tables and benches. We looked out into the evening, seeing our decorations we had spent countless hours making with our own hands, and with the market lights glowing over the gathering of nearly all of our family and friends, everyone was enjoying themselves, eating, drinking, laughing, and dancing. It was a moment that we will cherish and thank God for, forever.
