Quality VS Quantity of Bridal Party

When deciding on my wedding party, I thought long and hard about every wedding I had ever attended and how many bridesmaids and groomsmen were on each side. I remember thinking to myself, was it the quantity or the quality of the wedding party that made their wedding so special!?!?

During our wedding planning process, I received word that several people were not going to be able to make the trip to Seattle, WA (including some of my bridesmaids), that’s when I quickly realized that it is not how many people stand by your side, but it is the quality of the people that really matters!

I started with 5 bridesmaids, but ended up with 3, which consisted of my best-friend from college, my dearest friend from church and my closest cousin and those three together were absolutely amazing! Not only did they do the “standard bridesmaids duties” without hesitation (you know…make sure the bride eats, takes her vitamins, stays calm…), but they went above and beyond!!!

Bridal Party

My bridesmaids all came in early to spend the entire week with me, just to ensure I was well. They hosted the most beautiful bridal shower, where we had a formal wine tasting and prior to every new pour they would give a toast in my honor. They created a lovely keepsake scrapbook from all walks of my life, which included everyone and everything that I love. They sat out on the deck over-looking the water one morning and read a journal of my old emails about my love and admiration for my soon-to-be-husband. My bridesmaids truly made my wedding week/weekend the most memorable and heartfelt experience of my entire life and I love them so much for it!

When you decide who will stand by your side, ask yourself “Do The Numbers Really Matter?” and consider going more for the quality of the people vs. the quantity, you won’t regret it!!!
