If you’re like me, your holiday gift list seems to be getting longer and longer every year.  And if you’re planning a wedding, you probably don’t have a lot of extra moolah at your disposal.  So…if you have a drawer full of old wedding invitations (and maybe even some baby shower invitations)…you can now put them to good use!

Check out this fabulous DIY ornament project that doesn’t require a lot of time, materials, or even skill.  Now, that’s MY kind of project!

Getting Started -

1.  Simply cut an invitation into quarter inch (1/4″) strips. Make sure you capture the key details (dates/names) when you cut your strips.

2. Next, you will roll your 1/4 inch strips around a pen (printed side facing out).  If you are working with a heavier card stock, you may need to roll each strip around the pen a few times.

3. Take the top of a standard glass ornament off and insert all of your 1/4″ rolled strips into the ornament.

4. If you want to add a little embellishment, you could add a wine charm and/or ribbon to the ornament.  You’re done!  Now you have a unique, personalized gift for that special someone on your holiday list.  Don’t forget to make one for yourself too…if you’re soon to be married!

They are just so festive and special to look at. Moss covered letters can easily work for any wedding event, you can easily spell out the couples last name, do their initials or do something out of the ordinary, like the ampersand symbol. The possibilities are endless.

If you are thinking about doing this easy DIY wedding project, all you would have to do is go to your nearest craft store for all the supplies. Pick up some sheets of moss, paper mache or wood letters and a glue gun. It’s that easy! When starting this project, think about it as if your were wrapping a gift, lay out your sheets of moss and glue it to the letter. Carefully wrap the moss around the letter, gluing when needed. Trim with scissors. (Yes, it’s that easy!)

It’s all the small details that set one wedding apart from the rest. One detail that most brides over look are her shoes! No, I do not mean buying the perfect shoes.
