I fell in love with Julie and Tanner’s wedding as soon as I saw the photos from Heather Parker Photography! Everything about this day was planned to perfection. Purple and silver flowed throughout the event seamlessly in the wedding attire, flowers, details and even uplighting!

They did a traditional bouquet toss and then changed it up a bit with a football toss for the guys rather than a garter toss.  And then, proceeded to dance the night away!

Weekend Playlist: Neon Trees

It’s Friday… and a lovely morning for a fun playlist to get you in the mood for the weekend! Neon Trees recently came out with a new album that is quite fun so I thought I’d whip up a weekend playlist with some of their music.

Here are a few of their new songs (and a cover of Justin Bieber’s Baby).  I’m totally digging the song Mad Love… a cheery little love song, don’t you think?

Real Wedding: Mark & Susan

Mark and Susan had a beautiful wedding in Michigan filled with green and black details and decor. They had a lovely outdoor ceremony and then moved inside for the reception at the Spring Lake Country Club. Summer Osborn, the wonderful talent behind Summer Jean Photography, is sharing their photos with us today!

Summer: “Mark and Susan were a wedding photographers dream to work with. The kind of couple that we gush about to our other photographer friends. They are gorgeous, sweet, fun, laid back, and I feel like I have been friends with them forever! The weather was a little iffy leading up to their wedding day but it ended up being just perfect and we were even able to head out to Grand Haven for some pictures on the beach. Thank you to the the wedding party, the families, and their friends for all being awesome!

Fave Finds: Photo Books

I have to admit, I’m a bit photo-crazed. I definitely have snap-happy fingers, constantly clicking away photos on my camera and phone on a daily basis. With the growing quality of digital cameras and mobile devices these days… who isn’t caught up in photo-taking madness? Unfortunately, in this digital age, less and less people are actually making prints of their photos.

Guilty-as-charged! In the past couple of years, however, I’ve made it a personal goal to have physical prints made of my photos.  I want to have them to look back on in the years ahead and, to be honest, I don’t see myself flipping through my iPhoto, Facebook or blog archives when I’m in the mood to look at my pics.  My easy solution is photo books!  Rather than having piles of prints, I’ve been making a small photo book for any major event or trip I’ve gone on.  I’ve also been making photo books to recap each year and I’m so happy I’ve decided to do this!  They are easy to flip through, have a professional look and are actually quite affordable!

Your engagement period and adventures in wedding planning is an exciting time. One that you are surely capturing with pictures! Now is the perfect time to get in the habit of creating photo books to document different phases of your life. You can create books of your engagement, wedding events and continue this tradition into your newly-wed life!

There are lots of resources for creating photo books and most offer the option of creating a book with templates and also allow you to create a completely customized book! Each has unique options and designs so choose whichever best fits your needs.  In no particular order, here are a few of my faves…
