Wizard While You Work…

SW-screen1Nothing excites me more than launching a new feature or tool that helps brides and grooms build beautiful, custom websites for their weddings. Today, I have the opportunity to get excited again because we have just launched a fabulous new step-by-step website builder called the Site Wizard.

The Site Wizard walks you through the process of customizing your Theme, adding content or changing your site settings. Start by simply selecting the pages and/or tasks you want to work on. Then, all you have to do is just follow the steps to complete each one.

One of the reasons I love this new tool so much is because it is designed to help busy brides stay on track. Manage your overwhelm (or enthusiasm, as I like to say) by adding pages or tasks as you go. The Site Wizard will even track your progress, so you can work on your site at your own pace and feel that sense of accomplishment when you’re done.

Featured Wedding Website: Rach and Ryan

Rach and Ryan’s website is our featured WeddingWindow.com website of the week. The couple has done a great job of customizing their wedding website with beautiful photography and colors to compliment their upcoming elegant yet lighthearted summer wedding.  Their website is a great source of recognition to their supportive friends and family as well as a way to communicate with their many out-of-town guests.  Congratulations Rach and Ryan!

Custom Wedding Website

WeddingWindow.com Website Design: “Charmed”

1. How has your website been most helpful?
We included our website address in the save-the-date magnets we sent our guests 5 months prior to our wedding. Because most of our guests are from out of town, our wedding website has been really helpful in letting our guests know of our plans ahead of time. Our website turned out to be so organized and detailed that our formal invitations were almost futile! The website also sets the tone and feeling to our upcoming wedding – that it will be a formal but fun Summer wedding! :)

2. How did you customize your website?
We made sure that the important people in our lives who are going to be part of the bridal party are highlighted. We paid homage to our families and friends who have been very supportive throughout the years. For our bridesmaids and groomsmen, we even gave them a short testimonial each.

We also included a honeyfund registry instead of the traditional department store gift registry. It’s a subtle way of saying we have enough pots and pans in our kitchen. :)

3. Did you customize other elements of your wedding as well? If so, what were they?
Our upcoming wedding will be a combination of a modern and traditional Filipino-American wedding. The wedding rites will include a coin, veil, cord, and candle ceremony. Our 7 pairs of primary sponsors were carefully chosen to serve as our second parents to whom we can depend upon encouragement and counsel in our married years to come.

In addition, with only a day-of wedding coordinator, we are very hands-on when it comes to planning every single detail of the wedding (which we enjoy!). We are blessed to have a graphic designer friend that helped us design our own monogram and formal invitation. We are currently working on our programs, menus, and place cards.

4. What was your favorite feature?
I really like how everything is customizable. I was able to add a few extra pages to the website to personalize it and make it unique – from the bridal party to the gift registry. I would recommend Wedding Window to all brides-to-be!

Wedding Window at SXSW 2010

Wedding Window recently attended the SXSW conference in Austin, Texas. Since we had such a great experience, we thought we’d take a break from all-things-wedding for a moment, to share a few of the SXSW happenings with you …

On Monday, March 15th, Twitter CEO, Evan Williams announced during his Keynote speech the launch of a new platform called @Anywhere. Third party websites will be able to plug in @Anywhere to allow users to access basic Twitter functionality without having to actually visit the Twitter website.

Below are a few fun ArcAttack videos (from the SXSW Dorkbot Party on Saturday, March 13th)  – a perfect marriage of music and electricity.

Have a great weekend!
