Today we have a wonderful tutorial for DIY Will You Be My Bridesmaid Boxes! Alina from Alina Thomas Photography put together and photographed this easy DIY wedding project to share with WedLoft brides. Follow her instructions below to create your own boxes for your best ladies!
Here are the materials that you are going to need to recreate this cute little box:
– wooden craft box
– acrylic paint (I used white and red)
– paintbrushes (one thick and one thin)
– shredded craft paper (optional)
Step 1: Paint both the interior and the exterior of the box with one layer of white paint. To cover the wood aura you can use multiple coats of paint.
Step 2: Mix the 2 paint colors (white and red) until you obtain the desired shade of color (pink).
Step 3: Write “Will you…” on the top of the lid and use the pink color to outline the letters.
Step 4: Paint the interior of the lid using pink. When the paint is dry, lightly draw the bracket shape on the inside of the lid (free-handed or by using a template) and use white paint to outline it.
Step 6: Spell “be my bridesmaid?” using white to outline the letters.
Step 7: Fill in the box! You can get as creative as you want. Insert small treats and lay out the wedding day details. I used a notepad to keep track of all the important dates (bridal shower, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, wedding day, etc.), paint swatches revealing the color scheme, a pearl necklace to wear on the wedding day and a tube of lipstick that matches the color scheme.
