Last week I shared a tutorial for 5 minute earrings. Well, today I have another tutorial with two styles of earrings! These are much more casual and playful than the ones I showed you last week. They definitely have a handmade feel and make a great Spring or Summer accessory. Perfect for running around town on wedding errands or meeting your bridesmaids for lunch.
Earring Style A: Wreath Earrings
Step 1: Pattern – Lay out your beads in the pattern you want. The amount of beads you use is up to you. It will depend on the bead size and how big you want your wreaths to be.
Step 2: Cut – Go by your pattern to determine the length of embroidery thread you’ll need. Add in a little bit extra to be able to tie a sturdy knot. Cut your thread.
Step 3: String – String your beads onto the embroidery thread leaving both ends untied.
Step 4: Tie – Once all your beads are in place, bring both ends of your beaded thread together and tie in a knot. Snip off any extra thread. If you’re worried that your knot will come undone, add a dab of glue to hold together. And there you have your beaded wreath!
Step 5: Hook – Use the pliers to pull out the bottom of the earring hook. Fasten the top of your beaded wreath (where the knot is) onto the earring hook. Pinch the hook back in to hold in place. Repeat steps 1-5 for second earring.
Earring Style B: Layered Dangle Earrings
6 Head Pins (3 different lengths – 2 of each)
This style earring has stacked beads similar to the earrings I showed you in this tutorial.
Step 1: Stack – load your beads on the three different length head pins.
Step 2: Bend – Using your pliers, bend a small loop at the end of each pin.
Step 3: Hook– Pull out the bottom hook of the earring hook and hang all three of the pins on it. Pinch the hook back in place with your pliers to hold everything together.
Step 4: Repeat – Follow steps 1-3 for the second earring.
Now you have two new pairs of colorful earrings! Hope you had fun!
