I found this wonderful little DIY Doily Drink Parasol project from Papermash the other day. These adorable parasols would be just perfect for a bridal shower or casual outdoor wedding!  … And since you would need quite a few of them for such occasions, this presents a great opportunity to get together with your bridesmaids for a girls night (or afternoon) in to work on the project!

Materials:
Mini doilies ( available at papermash)
Cardstock paper
Pencil
Scissors
Wooden Skewers
Glue Stick
Hot Glue & Glue Gun
Accents for tops (optional)

Step 1: Cut out a small circle template and trace onto the card stock paper (you’ll need one for each parasol).  Cut out each and mark the center.

Step 2: Use glue stick to glue one circle onto the center of each doily and let dry. This will help to reinforce the paper doily and make the parasols sturdier.

Step 3: Cut from the edge of the doily to its center and bend into a cone shape.  Secure with glue.

Step 4: Glue button, bead or accessory to the top of the parasol and let dry.  (Optional)

Step 5: Use the hot glue gun to attach wooden skewer to the parasol.

Voilà!  You have a super cute parasol for your drink!  For the tutorial and template visit papermash.  While you’re there, poke around a bit.  They have lots of fun paper products!
