Customization is key when planning your wedding. DIY signs are a great way to add fun, handmade and (most importantly) custom details to your decor. There are many different kinds of signs you could DIY. Today I have an easy tutorial for creating signs with words made from pipe cleaners!
Hot Glue Gun & Glue
Wood (or any type of board to mount the words on)
Step 1 – Twist the pipe cleaners together to create the letters or words for your sign.
Step 2 – Cut out thin strips of fabric, about an inch wide and as long as you need to cover the whole word. If you don’t have long lengths of fabric your can just use multiple pieces per word. No worries! Wrap the strips of fabric around the shaped letters/words to cover the pipe cleaners completely. All that is needed is a dab of glue and the beginning and end of the fabric strip to hold in place around the pipe cleaners.
Step 3 – Mount your finished words onto a piece of wood or board for display. I used painted pieces of scrap wood. Simply add a few dabs of hot glue to the backs of your pipe cleaner words and press to the board until it is fixed in place.
You can spell out any words and place or hang them as decor at your ceremony and reception. They can be used as monogram displays, labels or just cute accent pieces.
