Brides with vintage style take note! This 1940s inspired, vintage engagement shoot was spot on! From clothing and props to hair and makeup… Kim, Jason and their photographer, Marie from Finished Vision Photography, pulled together this shoot in style!
Kim: The inspiration for our session came out of a love I have for the 1940’s. My fiancé Jason returned from a year overseas on a military deployment and I wanted to do something special together that would allow us to get creative. My grandfather was in the Army for a short time during World War Two and I thought it would be really special to have Jason wear his uniform for our pictures. We sat around brainstorming ideas for outfits and locations and got a lot of inspiration looking up old pictures from the era. It was so much fun! I began emailing back and forth with our wonderful photographer, Marie, bouncing ideas off of each other up until our session.
We wanted the look for our pictures to be a little bit romantic, a little bit sexy. I love a ‘woman in charge’ look in photography, so we aimed to have that in some of the shots. Marie was beyond amazing in getting me into the most flattering poses and making us laugh and feel comfortable the entire time. We lucked out on having a beautiful sunny day. Years down the road we will be able to look back on the pictures and have the memories of a time we were able to spend together having fun after having been apart for many months while Jason was deployed. We were so grateful for the care that Marie took into making our vision come to life.
