A Non-Traditional Guestbook Idea for a Wedding
One of the (many) things that I was adamant about was not having the traditional “sign-your-name-here” guestbook. I just knew there wouldn’t be much motivation to pull it out in later years if it was simply a list of names. So I decided to hunt for interesting and innovative guestbook ideas, and I found lots! This week, I am featuring the option I decided on—my very own scrapbook guestbook.
First let me say, it was quick, simple and affordable! To start, my mom and I picked out a plain but nice, cream-colored scrapbook at Michael’s Arts & Crafts. We also chose the “Happily Ever After” decal to stick on the front of the book.
Then we purchased colored Sharpie Markers that coordinated with my wedding colors for the guests to use to sign the book. We also found a ton of stickers with wedding phrases, hearts, champagne bottles and other celebratory symbols. You can find the stickers at most any craft store, as well as Target, Walmart, etc.
At the reception, we set up a table with the guestbook and the various markers and stickers in a basket for the guests to use. I think it turned out great! Judging by the messages, I can tell the guests had fun with it!
After the honeymoon, when life had returned to normal, my husband and I pulled it out to read together on our one-month anniversary!
Not only did we have a professional photographer, but we also had disposable cameras on every table at the reception. I plan to use those photos to finish my scrapbook guestbook! And my mom helped me save the personalized napkins, programs, etc., which will also be added! It will be even more fun for my husband and I to revisit the completed book on our one-year anniversary!
