No matter how big or small your wedding may be, the guests in attendance are an important aspect of your day.  These are the people who you will be surrounded by during this amazing experience.  That being said … you’ll want to make sure they’re happy and comfortable. Right? Here are some ideas that may help to ensure that your wedding guests are comfortable and have everything they need to have a great time during your wedding celebration.

Out of Town Baskets
If you have guests who are traveling far to attend your wedding, providing “Out of Town” gift baskets is a great way to thank these guests for making the trip.  These baskets don’t have to include lots of expensive items.  You can simply throw together a few things that will make them smile or that may come in handy on their trip.

Flip Flops
At the last few weddings I’ve been to, the couples provided flip flops for the guests. When I first saw this I was thrilled! This is such a thoughtful gesture. Dancing in heels can be quite uncomfortable – especially if you’re out on the dance floor all night. Since no one wants to be barefoot at a formal event, flip flops are a cute comfortable solution. You can leave a basket near the dj or for ladies in the restrooms.

Bathroom Baskets
Bathroom baskets are another easy thing to put together for your guests which could come in handy during the festivities.  Just put a basket in both the men and women’s bathroom (contents may vary for each bathroom) filled with essentials such as band-aids, bobby pins, shout wipes/pens, deodorant, floss, mints, hairspray/gel, lotion, nail files, Tylenol etc.  Basically anything you can think of the may come in handy.

These next ideas apply to those who are having an outdoor ceremony or wedding.

Parasols or Umbrellas
Depending on the forecast, having parasols for a sunny afternoon or umbrellas in the rain would make your guests much more comfortable.  Whether they are being used for shade or to keep dry, these accessories are also great for some cute wedding pics!

Beverages
If you’re having an outdoor ceremony on a hot and sunny day, cold beverages are another extra that would help keep your guests cool and relaxed.  You can simply provide bottled water or pitchers of lemonade.  Your guests can help themselves as they arrive and settle in for the ceremony.
