I love weddings that have a consistent theme that carries through the entire event.  As you can see in these photos from Orchard Cove Photography, everything from the venue to the reception details fit perfectly with Emily and Adam’s library themed wedding.

Emily: I don’t know that this was evident in how everything turned out, but my inspiration was classic 1940s Hollywood – Grace Kelly, Katherine Hepburn, etc. There’s this great Hepburn/Tracy movie called The Desk Set that’s basically a love story set in a library and I always came back to that style in my planning.

We tried to keep everything simple, elegant, and classic. Having the library as our venue did a lot of work for us, because the building itself was so lovely. I based my color palette on the light green of the Reading Room walls, choosing a bright blue shade to coordinate with it. Everything we did in terms of decorating was in an attempt to accentuate was what so naturally beautiful about the space. I hoped that the literary theme of the day would feel natural in the library, too, and we had a lot of fun creating little touches like the menus and centerpieces. Adam and I created the author photographs, menus, and placecards ourselves, and helped to design the programs, seating chart, and bookmark favors.
