Hi everyone! Today is a super exciting day… I finally get to share my handmade wedding with you!!  You may have been following along with the “Michelle Gets Married” posts where I shared some of my thoughts and experiences leading up to my wedding day.

Now I get to show you some fabulous photos from my wedding photographer, Brianna Cox Photography, from the day!  Brianna was absolutely fabulous!  She was with us all day, stepping in to give us direction for portraits and wedding party photos when needed and getting right in the mix (without us knowing) for photos during the ceremony and reception.

Thank you so much, Brianna, for doing such a wonderful job capturing our day and for making us feel so comfortable in front of the camera!  George and I could not be happier with our photos!

So… let’s get to em!

The back of this dress by Tadashi Shoji won me over immediately!  I’m a stickler for comfy shoes (yes, even on my wedding day!) and after buying and returning many pairs… I chose to wear a pair of shoes I had.  They were a dark brown so I simply painted them gold to go with my dress!

Since our ceremony and reception were all in one place, we chose to do bridal party photos and some wedding portraits before the ceremony.  Looking back, we are so happy we made this decision.  It meant so much to us to be present, experience the entire event and be with our friends and family for the whole night.  Taking photos before hand allowed us to do this.

The boutonnieres and bouquet flowers were DIY projects made from paper!

From the start, we wanted our wedding day to be one big, fun, happy lovefest… and super personal!  All of our decisions were based around that.

We wanted to keep our ceremony lighthearted and fun so we set the mood with the songs we chose.  George and his groomsmen strut their stuff down the aisle to He’s So Fine by the Chiffons. The bridesmaids drifted along after them to All You Need Is Love by the Beatles and I walked down the aisle, with my father dancing by my side, to My Girl by the Temptations.  Guests were singing and cheering along the way.  It was super fun and exactly the happy vibe we wanted.  To top it off… a close friend officiated the ceremony making it very personal, there was confetti galore and we made our exit to Come and Go With Me by the Beach Boys.  The rest of the night went by with smiles, hugs, laughs as we celebrated one big love!

All of our decorations were DIY projects.  Fabric bunting banners, a guest quilt, paper flowers (and more) were all made with love.  Stay tuned for a breakdown of all my DIY projects in the coming days!  I’ll be sharing tips for the projects I did along with some excellent tutorial resources.
