Ok, so this post may be a little bit of a tease… I’m going to share my experience of buying my wedding dress but, unfortunately, I will not be revealing my dress today. Â Sorry!! Â You’ll have to wait until after the wedding. Â Below is a little insight into my search for a wedding dress. Â If there are any brides out there who aren’t big on clothes shopping, please know you’re not alone! Â And please, everyone feel free to share your own dress shopping experiences in the comments. Â I’d love to hear you all found your dresses!
So as I mentioned in this post, I was not thrilled over the thought of shopping for a wedding dress. Â As a general rule, I’m not a shopper…I have to try everything on before buying and usually get aggravated somewhere along the way. Â And this would not be just any shopping trip, Â I’d be in search of one of the most important items of clothing I’d probably ever buy and it would also have to fit into my small budget. Â Yikes!
I started out by looking… and looking and looking online for dresses. Â What did I learn about my wedding dress preferences? Â I leaned towards dresses that were ivory, off-white or cream. Â A puffy gown just wasn’t for me. Â I swooned over dresses that were soft, sheath and had some sort of dramatic detail (straps, lace or a different shape).
While these are somewhat fancier and whiter than I prefer… in terms of style, some of the ones below stood out…
I loved all Anna Campbell wedding dresses.

Sadly, most of the dresses that I adored were outside the budget we had decided on. Â For a little while I contemplated making my own wedding dress but with a DIY project list that is about a mile long, I decided against it.
And then, I came across a beautiful dress that fit into my small budget and it was the just the right style for me! Score!! Â When I found the dress online, my size would not actually be available for another few weeks so I had to hold tight.
I did pop into a bridal store to try on a couple of dresses, which were all very nice… but my mind kept going back to the dress I saw online. Â Since I couldn’t get it out of my head, I decided not to try on any others until I tried on this one – keep in mind that I do not order clothes online and need to try on everything in store before making a purchase so this was wildly out of character for me.
As soon as my size was available online I ordered it and, with my mom by my side, stepped into it right away when it arrived. Â I knew the second I tried it on that it was my wedding dress. Â It wasn’t that I got all emotional and thought “this dress was made for me”… but it was light as could be, soft, unbelievably comfortable and it fit like a glove. Â Like a glove! Â I looked at my mom and said “Alright, this is my dress” and that was that. Â I think I shocked her with my immediate declaration that this was the one.
Could it possibly be that easy?  Did I just choose a dress I ordered online as my WEDDING DRESS? (Keep in mind how rare it is for me to buy any clothing online!) I think I just totally lucked out!  But, hey… I had my dress!  Again, sorry to leave you hanging, my actual dress will be revealed after my wedding day in April!
So… what about you?? Â How did you decide on your wedding dress? Â Did you shop online or visit a bridal boutique? Â Was it the first one you tried on or did you go through hundreds before finding the perfect dress? Â I’d love to hear your story so feel free to share in the comments!
