So I have some big news to share with you today. After four years of blogging here on WedLoft, I am finally planning my OWN wedding!! That’s right ladies, I’m engaged! My boyfriend of 6+ years, Mr B., popped the question a couple of months ago and I’ve been wading through wedding plans ever since.
Now when it comes to personal matters, I’m very private and painfully shy. I’m also not the typical bride… For example, the very thought of shopping for a wedding dress made me a little queasy. Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE weddings. And love. And pretty things. I manage this here blog on a daily basis and adore every minute of it. I love looking at photos from elegant events and sharing inspiration from weddings that are overflowing with gorgeous florals and sparkling details. But, strange enough, when it comes to my own wedding style, a fancy, formal soiree just isn’t my thing. I’m more of a casual, handmade kind of gal.
Which is why I’ve gone back and forth a bunch of times about whether I wanted to blog about my own wedding experience. Well, I finally came to a conclusion… How can I NOT blog about it? I’m a wedding blogger for goodness sake! So while my experience may not be a typical one, I’ve decided to share it with you. Because if there is even a very small handful of brides out there who are like me, I’m sure you’d be happy to hear that you’re not alone. My hope is that sharing my wedding experience may help out even those with different wedding styles.
So stay tuned as I bring you along on my wedding planning adventure! I feel I should warn you that I’ll be sharing as much of my experience as I can, however, I will not reveal all of the specifics before my wedding day. But I promise I will share everything in detail – my dress, details & decor, projects and all – after the wedding.
Next week I’ll tell you all about my ring… Stay tuned :)
