While researching wedding invitations I ran across a Black Tie boxed invitation from Dochelle that I really loved, until I looked at the price…$52.00 each (not including wrapping and shipping)!!!

So, I started reading other blogs from brides who had created D.I.Y wedding invitations and since I loved this $52.00 invitation, (but knew we were not going to spend anything close to that amount of money on invitations) I was determined to do the same!!!  I knew my fiance was great at graphics, so I wasn’t concerned about how they would look; however, I was concerned about the cost of the materials!!!  So, with my inspiration photo in one hand and my wallet in the other, I  started my search for all the materials!!!

I found the white linen metallic paper ($17.99 for 50 sheets) at Paper Zone and knew I was headed in the right direction!  The ribbon buckle sliders ($.99 each) were from TrulyMadlyDeeply.com The black gloss boxes ($40 per case – 50 boxes in each case) were from Uline.com.  The ribbon ($3.99 per spool) and the black gloss paper ($10.99 per 50 sheets) were also from Paper Zone (they know me by name!).  The small jewels were from Michaels at $3.99 for 192 jewels.  We really found some great deals!!!

The “hunt” paid off, because … The Grand Total for our DIY invitations … $2.80 each!!!

You should consider DIY wedding invitations because it just might allow you to have the invitations of your dreams, without breaking the bank!
