My fiancée and I are pretty big wine drinkers. We’re also fairly lazy which means we have plenty of empty wine bottles piling up in the recycling area. So, all of these dusty bottles got me wondering how I could reuse them in a fun way for our wedding. I love reusing items we already have at home because not only is it budget friendly (umm…can you get any more budget friendly than free?!?), it’s also eco-friendly. As it turns out, there are plenty of ways to put these bottles to good use!

Check out this DIY Wine Bottle Torch. I would love to do a freestanding version! (click the image to get to the tutorial)

I love anything that makes use of twinkle lights!

So many great ideas I may need to start drinking more just to get the empty bottles!

What about using them as favors? Fill them up with hand soap, dish soap, olive oil, or just about anything you could think of and add the right lid. You could paint them or decorate them in a million different ways to suit your wedding colors or theme.

With a little ingenuity you can usually find ways to reuse items around the house for your wedding. I am absolutely going to try out those torches! What about you – will you be reusing at your wedding?

Your comment about a free standing bottle torch got me to thinking. Not only would it be cool but it would see a little more safe. The idea of these things burning so close to anything flammable is kind of scary. Now I’m think of a post that will hold a regular size wine bottle. Safer, and more illuminating away from your house!
