Today I thought I’d share a small, intimate wedding ceremony with you.  Sara and Orion chose to marry in a meadow in Yosemite National Park.  It was just the bride and groom, a few family members, an officiant and Patrick Pike Studios.

Patrick: Sara and Orion planned an intimate wedding in Leidig Meadow for their closest family.  Although this removed a lot of planning and details from a typical wedding, the day prior to their wedding they explored the valley together to make sure that they found the perfect place.  For Sara and Orion, this little spot in Leidig Meadow was their perfect place for a wedding.  Once you stand here, with the valley strecthing out in both directions and granite walls towering overhead, it’s easy to see why.

Both Sara and Orion did not want to see each other on their wedding day until their ceremony.  In order to make that happen, Orion escorted his family out to the ceremony location and patiently waited for his bride to make the same trek.  As he stood there and looked at the grantie walls rising into the blue, I can only imagine the thoughts running through his head.  Finally, Sara escorted by her father appeared in the distance as they made a long and emotional walk together.  Together with Orion once again, they and their guests formed a circle in the middle of the meadow so that everyone could be a part of the ceremony.  Dr. Susann officiated a simple ceremony that fit Sara and Orion perfectly.  Best of all, nature herself needed to be included.  A consistent warm breeze stood as a gentle reminder of where we all stood.  And the moment the ceremony was over, tears of joy flowed and embraces were shared.  Everyone was family now.

In some ways this was the most basic of wedding ceremonies.  There was no music, no fancy building, no extras.  Just the important things; closely knit people and love.  But that’s exactly what made the ceremony so special.  It removed so much fluff and allowed Sara and Orion to focus on the things that truly matter.
