Ladies, I’m sure you’ll agree with me… having a photographer in place for a surprise proposal is SUCH a great idea. This is a huge moment in any couple’s life. To have it documented in photos is the ultimate way to remember it forever!
These photos by Studio Squoia of Aaron’s proposal to his unsuspecting girlfriend turned bride-to-be are adorable! Their photographer, Kelley, will fill you in on the details…
Kelley: Aaron called me up one afternoon and asked if he could make an appointment to come into our studio and talk about asking his girlfriend of two years, Lacey, if she would be his wife. He is currently in the Navy and has been deployed several times, every time Lacey would patiently wait for her hero to return… On this return though, Aaron brought back a gorgeous ring and was poised to propose, but he thought he should really do something nice for his bride-to-be. So he came into the studio with a very specific idea in mind and only needed our help to bring it all together. She had been bugging Aaron to start going to this new church, or at least give it a try… so funnily enough, that became his cover story. But in reality Aaron would secretly take her to Sunset Cliffs in San Diego (the spot where they had their very first date) where they would “happen” upon a heart made from blue stone and wildflowers and a proposal. It was a very warm morning but the light and the colors turned out to be pretty much perfect, and Aaron’s idea to fool her into thinking she was going to church was GENIUS because she showed up in a stunningly classy outfit, poised to have her picture taken. Aaron did a fabulous job constructing this proposal and I cannot say enough about him as both an American soldier and as a person… He spent a lot of time thinking and reflecting on his relationship with Lacey to make this whole thing come together.
Congratulations on your engagement Lacie and Aaron!
