To pull off successful surprise proposal photography, the event must be planned to perfection.  A photographer needs to be in the right place at the right time and sometimes a sneaky approach is necessary.  This is especially true when the photographer knows the couple and can’t pass for an innocent bystander!

Mary from Mary Rosenbaum Photographs recently had the pleasure of capturing her brother’s proposal!  She’ll fill you in on how it all went down…

Mary: As a wedding photographer, I was thrilled when my brother Daniel told me he wanted to propose to his girlfriend Tami on an upcoming trip to visit me in Southern California. He knew that he wanted to pop the question at the Montage resort that they had visited a few months earlier and Tami fell in love with. We concocted a story about me needing to meet one of my brides at the hotel to discuss her wedding and asked if they could kill some time walking around and enjoying the scenery.
