To Photo Booth or NOT to Photo Booth… That is the question!
It seems that more and more couples are opting to rent a photo booth for their wedding reception today. I must say, this is definitely one of my favorite current unique wedding reception trends. What are the benefits of having one, you might ask? Well for one thing, your guests will have a blast taking goofy wedding reception photos of themselves all evening. And more importantly, your photographer can remain focused on capturing all of the special moments between you and your new hubby! However, if your budget cannot quite swing the rental of a traditional photo booth, there are many creative alternatives out there. Here are just a few of the great ideas I found!
Do-it-yourself Photo Booths
One clever bride, along with her wedding planner, Sasha Souza, created the fabulous photo booth displayed below. They essentially covered a large piece of wood with wallpaper, then added framed family photos and large open frames for their guests to poke their heads through. Is this not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?!
Creative Photo Cut-outs
When the dynamic duo of Jane and John (of John and Joseph Photography) and Jane Lee Photography) were recently married, photography played a big role in their celebration. These two had a life-size cardboard cutout of themselves constructed for their guests to pose with!
Involve your guests
You can simply provide your guests with disposable cameras and let them take their own pictures. Consider making props available to your guests as well! Hats, feather boahs, costume jewelry, mustaches and eyeglasses are just a few of the items that can be used. They will surely entice your guests to get a little silly (especially after a few cocktails) and you will end up with some hilarious wedding reception photos that you will cherish for years to come.
Whether you decide to rent a traditional photo booth or devise your very own, it is yet another wonderful way to engage your wedding guests and ensure that your big day is not only unique, but tons of fun!
