What inspired you to start your business?
5 years ago I went on a search for a wedding dress for my wedding. After trying on many gowns and not finding the perfect one I decided to design my own dress. Since childhood I’ve loved sketching and wedding gowns. Designing my own gave me the inspiration and drive to start doing the same for others. It’s been such an awesome experience.
What options for customization do you offer?
Any gown in the 2011 collection can be customized to your measurements. We are also able to change the neckline, add a train, add your initials to the dress, incorporate a piece of your mother’s gown to the dress, and the list could go on. I think having a dress customized to the bride is so special, and makes the dress truly unforgettable.
If you could give one tip to couples that are planning their wedding what would it be?
Be yourself. Your wedding is the one-day you will remember forever. Don’t have it be something that doesn’t represent you and your personalities. Don’t be afraid to go outside of the box and make your day truly special and unique to you.
What is something that most people don’t know about your business/you?
I never went to design school. I am self-taught. My degree is in nursing which is something I still enjoy doing on the side.
What is your must have item/product/tool to have when you’re working?
I would have to say my iphone. I do so much with it. It helps me keep organized, answer e-mails, & research online. The possibilities really are quite endless? 2nd would be my ipad. I do all my sketching on it
If you had to choose one word to describe yourself /business what would it be.
For both I would have to say genuine. What you see is what you get. I try to be as real and personable with my clients as I can. I like that my past brides are now friends. It’s a blessing.
5 things that make you happy?
Reading the Bible
Is there anything else you’d like to share
When I started this business I knew I wanted it to be about much more than just wedding gowns. We currently donate 20% from each dress made to different charities around the world. There is nothing more fulfilling than giving of oneself to help others. It’s my passion and mission behind this business. I would love for any of your readers to get involved and help as well.
