Natalie Briggs is one of our favorite vendors when it comes to bridal accessories. She specializes in gorgeous, handmade garters. From glamorous embellishments to incorporating a touch of something blue, Natalie has garters fit for any bride! Learn more about Natalie below…
What inspired you to start your business?
I started Natalie Briggs garters shortly after my own wedding. It was a combination of not being able to find a garter i ‘actually liked’ in bridal retail stores and needing a hobby. The ones i did find looked like they were from the 80’s with bright colors, itchy lace and boring design. After a few months i found brides really loved my handmade designs and we’ve been growing ever since.
What options for customization do you offer?
My garters can be customized in size, satin color and lace color. I even offer couture designs made just for one bride.
If you could give one tip to couples who are planning a wedding, what would it be?
Be organized, organized and organized. Weddings are a stressful event to plan, there are so many things to organize. I suggest getting a resource to keep all of your book details, receipts, appointments etc. Its never too early to plan and book things in. Otherwise, if you leave it until it’s too late you may not get what you dreamed of.
What is something that most people don’t know about your biz/you?
That i love watching the Antiques Roadshow, I LOVE red wine and I’m currently learning German (trying in- between sewing).
What is your one must-have tool to have on-hand when you’re working?
My sewing machine – its a basic sewing machine but I’ve had it for years and it gets me through anything… Even the light bulb is still going!
If you had to choose one word to describe yourself/your business what would it be?
Old-fashioned both me and my business. My garter designs are more modern than anything but the fact that I am sticking to my old fashioned belief that more things need to be made by people again, instead of machines.
5 Things that make you happy?
My husband- he always makes me smile, backpacking, picnics, a bottle of wine and chocolate ( I’m a chocoholic)
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
Recently released new range of bridal garters are in store now. These garters are inspired by Art Deco, simplistic elegant garters with vintage styled rhinestone brooches.
