Today, we are thrilled to introduce another fabulous stationery vendor to you! So without further ado, let’s meet Lindsay van Harssel, the uber talented founder of Hoopla House Creative. Lindsay has a passion for great design, incredible quality and helping bring to life a truly one-of-a-kind celebration.
And, guess what?! Lindsay offered to share some gorgeous FREE printables with all of you! Below, you will find links to a collection of free printables…including banners, favor tags, mr. & mrs. signs, bridesmaid cards, shower bingo cards, and more. You can also easily link to the matching invitations, so can create a cohesive look for all of your wedding paperie!
Lindsay was also kind enough to participate in a little “Q&A” session, so we could get to know her better. Here’s more about Lindsay…
What inspired you to start your business?
I had always wanted to start up my own business and stationery design seemed like the natural thing. I find it to be such an honor to be apart of such profound moments in people’s lives. I get to know couples like I would a new friend; I feel their joy and I’m truly excited to be involved in their planning process. I continue to grow in new directions and face new challenges every day. I once heard this bit of advice while starting my business and I couldn’t agree more, “The successes are sweeter because you built them but the challenges are scarier, because you alone need to establish how to fix them.” With that being said, this journey has been amazing and I wouldn’t change it for a second!
On your day off you can be found…
first in line at an estate sale. I love finding vintage pieces and giving them new life. There’s just something about the imperfections and patina that you’ll see in an old piece that gives us hints into it’s previous life – I love that!
What options for customization do you offer?
The sky’s the limit! You’ll see plenty of invitations on my site that can be ordered with just a few minor adjustments (wording, colors, etc.) This is a great option for couples on a time crunch or if they happen to find something that fits their theme perfectly. However, I understand that every wedding is one of a kind, and the stationery needs to reflect that, which is why I also offer completely custom design services. I’m always ready to listen, because understanding my clients’ vision is where the design process begins. My favorite part of my job is working with couples to create a timeliness, totally-them preview of the festivities ahead!
What is your one must-have item/product/tool to have on-hand when you’re working?
Without a doubt, my sketchbook (and coffee, of course!) I have hundreds of sketchbooks. I’ve saved every one of them since high school. When I’m stumped I often dig them out and get re-inspired by something I drew years ago. It’s fun to see how my ideas have evolved over the years. Something that started off as a doodle could circle back to become the inspiration for a whole new line of stationery.
Do you have any advice to share with couples about selecting their invitation designs and wedding stationery? For example, how to tie their invites in with their wedding theme or style.
If you haven’t chosen a theme yet, start by brainstorming a list of things you both love and what you have in common. Choose a style that you love – trendy or not. Don’t be afraid to ask for something you haven’t seen before, have fun with it and create something that’s uniquely you! Not exactly sure what you’re looking for? I’d love to join in on your brainstorming session. Together, we’ll create something that you both will fall in love with.
Thank you, Lindsay, for sharing your beautiful invitation designs with us!
