Everyone wants to look their best on their wedding day and I think hair and makeup play a huge role in this. It’s difficult to trust someone with your wedding hair and wedding makeup if you’ve never worked with them before, so it’s definitely a good idea to book a trial run – that way you can get to know the person beforehand, become comfortable with them, and decide if you’re happy with their work before your big day.

I did this with both my hairstylist and makeup artists and was ecstatic with the results. If you’re in the New York area, I highly recommend contacting Stacy Pitt (hair) and Sally Duvall (makeup). They work together a lot, which is also a nice perk, and were both an absolute dream on my wedding day, as well as the months leading up to that day. They are extremely talented, professional, a complete pleasure to be around, and a lot of fun. They worked on me, as well as my 7 bridesmaids and mom – everyone was comfortable and looked amazing. Check out the detail in this hair shot – I didn’t even realize how intricate the back of my head was until I saw this picture! Thanks ladies!!

How to Choose the Right Wedding Hairstyle

One of the hardest decisions for me was how to wear my hair, so I’m sure a lot of you are struggling with that as well. I couldn’t decide if I should wear it down, up, bangs, no bangs – there were just so many choices. Whatever style you choose, just make sure that you feel comfortable and natural moving around and that you still look like you– maybe a more glamorous put-together version of you, but you all the same. There are millions of hairstyle images online, so start searching! Here are a few of my faves to help spark some inspiration.

Using Airbrush for Your Wedding makeup

In terms of makeup, I went with airbrush makeup and LOVED it. It was lightweight (I didn’t feel like I had makeup on), natural looking (I looked like me, but flawless) and long-wearing (it’s sweat, smudge, and tear proof and lasts up to 18 hours!). I highly recommend checking out makeup artists who specialize in this (like Sally Duvall) and trying it out for yourself. I have eczema, which makes my skin highly sensitive and my skin felt great all day and night.
