As I mentioned yesterday in this post, I was recently invited to visit the Riverside Farm and Amee Farm Lodge for a weekend retreat, along with a wonderful group of wedding professionals, to tour the venues and learn all about what they offer couples for exclusive destination wedding weekends. I have to tell you, this location, the owners and the people who live and work there, totally exceeded my expectations.

Here is the break down of my fabulous weekend at Riverside Farm…

My fiance, Mr. B., and I arrived on Friday night to check in to the cozy and rustic Amee Farm Lodge. We were welcomed with warm greetings and friendly faces. After checking in to our gorgeous king room, we headed out to the common space to mingle with the other vendors who were staying for the weekend and enjoyed a light dinner provided by Sweet Georgia P’s and The General Store.

We woke early the next morning and started the day with a deluxe continental breakfast at the lodge to gear up for an exciting day. After breakfast, Tom and Erlin from Perfect Vermont offered a choice of a morning yoga session or snowshoeing in the nearby mountain trails. I opted to do yoga with Erlin, a refreshing way to start the day!

Later on we met Courtney Desena, owner of Riverside, for a guided tour of the event spaces (more on that here). From Courtney’s tour it was evident that she and her team do everything in their power to create an absolutely amazing wedding experience for the couple and their guests, both on the wedding day and for the entire weekend stay. Not only are the event spaces stunning, but they’ve also revamped all of the lodging to provide a high-end rustic stay for the wedding party and guests. Even on a drizzly, icy day… the Farms were beautiful.

When the tour was over, we broke for lunch. I decided it would be nice to stay close by to get the full experience so Mr. B. and I had lunch at the General Store. The General Store is exactly what you would imagine existing in a small New England town. And the food was so so tasty!

We then met back at the Amee Farm Lodge for a cheese making demonstration by Rebecca and Joe of Sweet Georgia P’s. They showed us the simple steps for making an organic ricotta cheese… then treated everyone to a tasting of two ricotta recipes! All I can say is… YUM!

If that wasn’t amazing enough, in the late afternoon Occasions Catering came by and provided some tasty appetizers and signature cocktails served in mason jars. Everything was wonderful and the presentation was beautiful.

We ended the day with a Vermont style dinner event! The General Store provided another delicious meal and we ate, mingled and played games to the sounds of musician Matt Chase. It was a wonderful night!

Before heading home the next morning, there was another breakfast offered as well as more activities with Perfect Vermont.

Goodbye Vermont! We hope to visit the Riverside and Amee Farms again soon!

Overall, if you choose to have a destination wedding at the Farms or visit for a wellness weekend… you will be in great company and in good hands for your stay.  These venues offer the perfect mix of luxury and rustic charm.  I fell in love with the beauty and possibilities for wedding events and my groom-to-be was quite fond of the raw wood and exposed beams throughout the venues… he especially loved the groom’s cabin (of course!).

Thank you to our amazing hosts and sponsors!!  It was pleasure to meet you all and the other guest vendors during the weekend stay…
