There are many things to consider when shopping for a wedding dress.  First, there’s the cash consideration. Think about how much money you can spend on a wedding without going over budget. If you know there is a max to the amount you can spend, be sure to consider this when shopping for your dress.  Do your best to try on dresses that are within your price range.  It is heartbreaking to fall in love with a dress you can’t afford.  Price is usually the first thing that comes up.

Has anyone ever said what the second most important thing is when choosing a wedding dress?  In my opinion, it is knowing when to stop shopping! Brides can get wrapped up in the fun and excitement of buying a wedding dress. If you’ve been dreaming of the day when you get to pick out a wedding dress forever … you many go a little overboard when shopping for your dress. Some brides shop and shop and shop for their dress. In the process of trying on so many dresses, they tend to have problems picking the ONE. You know, the dream dress.  Yes, that prefect dress.

Sometimes a bride will find a dress she absolutely loves … but will still keep shopping. What if there is another one out there that I’ll like better? Ladies, to keep your sanity … if you fall in love with a dress – the look, the fit, the feel – do not look any further.  You have your wedding dress!

To help brides out during their wedding dress adventures, I have a few pointers …

First, and most importantly, trust your instincts!!! If you happen to love a dress but your not too sure if you want to finalize your decision, sleep on it. If you happen to love the same dress in the morning, then that’s probably the one.

Another way to tell what your heart wants in a wedding dress is to count the number of times you’ve tried on that wedding dress. From my own experience, I can say that I’ve tried on my wedding dress 5 times, before I purchased it. Every time I had tried on another dress, I always went back and changed into my wedding dress choice, so I could compare. If you find yourself doing the same thing, you probably know in your heart what dress you want.

Remember, who’s wedding it is. Do not let people overrule your decision on what wedding dress to buy. It’s your wedding day; your opinion should be the only one what matters. So if you find yourself debating with a loved one on which dress to buy, go with the one that you love the most.
