Shannon and Brian had an amazing event filled with yellow wedding inspiration at the Red Oak Room at Cantigny Golf Course in Wheaton, Illinois. They combined their love of Scrabble and nature together to make for one stunning, totally personalized wedding.
Colors of yellow, white, gray and green flowers and decor decorated the space (both inside and out!). The couple made lots of Scrabble details including custom chalkboard table numbers with Scrabble pieces on them, and the bridal bouquet we made had 2 little Scrabble “charms” with their initials on the handle.
The flowers were textural and beautiful. A mixture of tall floral branch centerpieces with hanging votives and shorter mixed container trios decorated the tables while orchids, succulents and branches adorned the cake. Flowers rimmed the beverage station and covered the ceremony arch. Scrolling petals danced down the aisle leading to river rocks which functioned as part of the sand & rock ceremony which took the space of the usual “unity candle”.
Succulent favors with little flags functioned as both escort cards AND favors. They were a huge hit amongst the guests!
The giant green bulletin board wall outside of the cocktail area was decorated with paper circles of varying colors and sizes. It was a very unique look and a very creative way to hide the green board which the bride hated.
Shannon and Brian’s wedding was just amazing. Wonderful weather, a beautiful bride, a stunning venue space, great food and awesome vendors. I loved being a part of this one!
