Yomand and Lana’s site is our featured WeddingWindow.com wedding website of the week. We love how their color palette allows their beautiful photography to be center stage. They also did a wonderful job of incorporating their own photography into their website design to make it truly unique. Congratulations Yomand and Lana!
WeddingWindow.com Website Design: “Celebrity”
1. How has your website been most helpful in planning your wedding?
Our website has been most helpful with getting the word out about our wedding, allowing our family and friends a closer look inside our relationship and providing information on our wedding events in advance. Anything anyone wants to know about us and our wedding will live on the website. It is so easy for our guests to type in the url and have all of the information at their fingertips. The budget, vendor and guest list managers are also so helpful and awesome. It makes planning so much easier to have everything you need in one location.
2. How did you customize your website?
We customized everything from the design selection, background and text colors, selecting and adding specific pages that fit our needs to adding our own photographs and blog. We made a page solely dedicated to the engagement ring—everyone wants to see it so why not make a page for it! LOL. We are also planning to add videos of us and some events leading up to the wedding so people who are unable to attend can share in our special moments.
3. Did you customize other elements of your wedding as well? If so, what were they?
We are working on customizing all elements of our wedding. We want our wedding to be uniquely ours, special and meaningful to us and for our family and friends to have a great time and walk away saying, “that wedding was amazingly Yomand and Lana and we were glad to be a part of it!” Customizing is all in the details and we are working on the details now!
4. What was your favorite website feature?
Our favorite feature was being able to really take control of the site and make it our own. We wanted the website to reflect our personalities and we think the final product does just that. The site represents all that is good with the both of us today and in the future. We wanted to personalize the site so our family and friends would get that overwhelming personal feeling when they viewed it. Our goal for the website was to make it unique to our relationship and personalities, sophisticated, fun and interactive. We wanted to make sure once people logged on they did not want to leave and if they did have to leave they would definitely be back for more. When we launched our website on Friday, October 2, 2009 we had over 300+ hits within the first two days. Everyone who has viewed the site has expressed how much they love it, how informative it is, how long they have spent reading through the pages of the site and how it has made them shed a tear. We are overwhelmed by all of the positive comments we have received. It is amazing for us to hear those types of comments and it shows us that we really did accomplish our goal with doing this website.
